1. Set: Lorena Izquierdo & Steffi Weismann: el pájaro borra la ciudad – Soundperformance (objects, voice, movement)
This version of “the bird erases the city” will be the third presentation of their collaborative work as performer-composers that Lorena Izquierdo and Steffi Weismann began in 2022 (Kleine Orangerie Berlin) and continued 2023 in Valencia (Visitas Sonoras). Some of the previous materials will be adapted site specifically to the new Errant Sound space:
what counts is the movement, the sound that inscribes itself, its intensity and the energy that is awakened in the audience. We depart from discourse by articulating the absurd, we are in search of chaos so that it intervenes in our pieces, to open up paths not taken, moving away from the standardization of our behavior.
2. Set: Elif Gülin Soğuksu: catching the sounds of the mind voice and sonic imagination (solo)
The performance is based on live-coding experiments on SuperCollider that process, synthesize, and spatialize sounds using algorithmic techniques. Investigating voice that has a potential in the formation of sonic imagination to be employed for dealing with electronic music composition. Ethereal voices and harmonies, field recordings, synthetic and micro sounds—electronic clicks, impulses, and discrete sounds—move across the surfaces and collide with the space’s texture, density, and sparsity. A blurry, malleable sonic space that shifts back and forth in between flashbacks of sonic memories and traces of the vocal material that plays with the mode of listening and perceptual attention, alternating in between pure, distorted, and processed vocal materials. Voices draw others into their fold, allowing the affective impact to become one in different bodies, resonate with one’s skin and bones, and tickle one’s ears.
Elif Gülin Soğuksu is an electroacoustic composer, sound artist, performer, and researcher born in Istanbul and currently based in Berlin. She holds her bachelor’s degree in composition and audio technology at Istanbul Bilgi University Music (TR) and recently obtained her master’s degree at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague (NL). https://www.elifgsoguksu.com
