The project explores the theme of locality, emerging from collaborative processes as well as attentive listening to and observation of the environments in which individuals live. The installation is based on field recordings gathered in the artists’ neighborhoods: the Berlin district of Neukölln and Oliwa, Gdańsk, and their analyzed forms: sine structures. Through a sensitive engagement with familiar spaces—examining their unique characteristics, temporal dynamics, and ongoing transformations, often captured in passing—the project initiates a conversation about locality as the starting point for artistic inquiry and a framework for reflecting on global concerns.
The initial presentation of the installation will take place at Errant Sound @ Miss Read. The work is conceived as a nomadic installation, intended to be shown in additional locations, with permanent components that are re-contextualized in each new setting. Each site offers an opportunity to trace new threads, uncover different perspectives, and evoke distinct sonic experiences.
