Transferans presents: Subterranean Changes Vol. 3

featuring Gilles Aubry & Özcan Ertek

Wednesday, 5 August 2026

20:00 Doors · 21:00 Performances

Errant Sound

Gerichtstr. 45 · 13347 Berlin-Wedding

An evening exploring the creative possibilities of AI-generated and pre-trained sound material and signal-based processes. Across two live performances, machine learning models function as live instruments, interacting with electronics and real-time processing. A short artist talk and audience Q&A follow the performances.

Gilles Aubry – L’Makina @earpolitics
L’Makina is a two-part live performance combining AI-generated sound textures with modular synthesis. Based on a virtual sound model trained on recordings of Amazigh instruments, the work explores spectral transformation, memory, and machine listening. The title references a 1930s song about the phonograph by the Moroccan rwais musician L’Haj Belaid.

Transferans: Subterranean Changes Vol. 3 at Errant Sound featured two performances exploring machine learning and computational approaches to sound.

L’Makina by Gilles Aubry and live computation by Özcan Ertek approached machine learning as a performative instrument, combining trained sound models with electronics, and real-time processing.

Thanks to everyone who joined us and stayed for the Q&A afterwards to continue the discussion around machine listening and trained sound models.

A few moments from the evening.
