on the fly

sound performance with microphoned cardboard boxes, strings, and audience

In the new site-specific versions of “on the fly,” the wooden architecture of Floating and the audience become part of a performative sound sculpture. Steffi Weismann creates a situational soundscape of bowed tones with flowing pitches resulting from the variable tension of the nylon strings. The resonance is transmitted from the cardboards to a loudspeaker. The flexible fastening points mark the playground of tensed lines and bodies and create a field of tension that also has an effect on the perception of silence. In this way, the focus allows to open, as if time were stretched and space enlarged.
The Performance will be presented at two different points of the site at different times:
Solo: Saturday 17:30 und Sunday 13:00
Trio: Laura Mello, Max Joy and Steffi Weismann, Saturday and Sunday 19:00
