Exhibition, Performances and Discourse 1.-10. July 2022 with works by Janine Eisenächer, Brad Nath, el cangrejo y el caracol (Lorena Izquierdo Aparicio & Aziz Lewandowski), Jan Rozman, and a lecture by Stephanie Schroedter
1.7. – 10.7. 2022
Errant Sound and DOCK 11
The event and artistic research-series READY MAKING is dedicated to the presentation and exploration of sound-practical actions with things. Selected performances and installations are assembled under a different thematic focus in each edition and discursively accompanied by lectures, artist talks and the dialogue-based video interviews “Mind the Sound”. After initially focusing on the things themselves as co-performers with their own agency (#1) and subsequently dealing with the materiality of sound spaces and spatial practices and listening (#2), we explored the aspect of sonic affordances (#3) and various forms of microphoning and microscoping matter through sound (#4). At last, we discussed resonances and media apparatuses (#5), now READY MAKING #6 finally focuses on the manifold and complex relations between sound, movement and choreography/ composition as well as on sound production and listening in movement as an interrelation of body, things and environment. Practised and remembered movements of the body, particularly of the hand, on and with everyday tools or musical instruments are incorporated into the sonic practices and know-hows of musicians, performers or dancers. How does listening to these actions and sounds influence the movements and, vice versa, how does movement influence the sound production?
Part of this programme of the artistic research-series are the sound artists, musicians and (composer-)performers Janine Eisenächer (DE), Brad Nath (US/DE), el cangrejo y el caracol (Lorena Izquierdo & Aziz Lewandowski, ES/DE), Jan Rozman (SL), and the theatre and dance studies scholar Prof. Dr. Stephanie Schroedter (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna/AT).
