Cancelling Noise is an immersive performance that invites participants to explore the cultural and political dimensions of noise. The performance challenges conventional definitions of noise pollution and highlights the biases embedded in modern noise reduction technologies. Listeners experience an altered reality of the surrounding neighbourhoods, as they are prompted to reflect on the implication of the prevaling narratives of soundscapes and the privilege of silence. By recontextualizing our relationship with noise in a world dominated by tech corporations, this experience underscores the intersection of sonic environments and climate (in)justice. Through this journey, participants gain new insights into how sound and silence shape our shared spaces and political realities.
